Faith of the Canaanite Woman
Bible Reading from our youth worship
We all face trials and obstacle. Some of this hardship really put us down. We deal with it differently. Some run to friends. Some develop different vices. Some of us pray to God. But sometimes, it seems to be that God is silent. We seem to say that God had abandoned us. But even though we have these problems, we must never give up on God. He might be silent for a while, testing how extreme our faith is. But if we really believe in him, like the Canaanite woman did, we too will get out own miracles. Trust him fully and all will be alright.
Well you might say, who is this girl is who is saying this. You might think that I don't have my share of problems. But believe I did have my share of hardship and miracles. I'll tell you one story that had happened to us. A few years back, my mom got sick. She vomited a lot, and always had stomach pains. We had her checked by a doctor. She went through different test. And the doctor said my mom had colon cancer. We could not believe it. How could that be, when she was so strong. We prayed to God and ask God to help my mom. We decided to have a second opinion. We went to another doctor. She undergone different test once again. And yet again, the result showed that my mom had colon cancer. My mom’s health was starting to deteriorate. By now, we were starting to feel devastated. But still we hold on to God. We continued to pray. We would have prayer sessions for my mom. We didn't loose hope. One relative suggested that we went for a third opinion. My mom was getting weak so we had her confined in a different hospital and looked for yet another doctor. Not telling what the first two results had been, my mom went through different test for the third time. As we were waiting for the result, we prayed fervently to God. When the result came, the doctor said that my mom’s stomach was just inflamed. Like the Canaanite woman, our family never gave up on God. We kept on believing that God would help us, even though He was silent for a while. And we had our miracle.
